Does ROW height in US cause any difficulty in daily driving?
Hi, I am about ready to give the go ahead to my shop to lower my US 993 to ROW ride height. Will this height result in any difficulty in daily driving, e.g., speed bumps, driveways, etc....or it this an issue only for more extreme lowering? I am hopeful ROW is a conservative drop that will yield only goodness. Thank you!

I worried about this when I lowered mine. When I first took it off of the jack stands, I was really surprised how much of a difference an inch or so makes. It looked really low!
Now, 2 years later, no issues at all & it looks so good!

I would say the RS +10 is the more challenging height to daily.
here is the height chart

We have since sold it, but we did lower our stock ride height 1995 993 (on 17” wheels) to ROW standard ride height and had absolutely zero issues. We did this when we updated the worn-out suspension. I would do it again without reservation.

Hi Paolo,
No major issues, if you see a steep driveway apron go at it from the side. Also, do not drive the front bumper over parking blocks.
I added a skid plate under the back bumper cover to avoid hooking the bumper cover and riping it on a steep apron or road debris:

An easy DIY project to fabricate.

Yes you will have to have more awareness of steep driveways and speed bumps. But nothing a few angles can't fix.

RS +10 for me and it's perfect. ROW is higher. No issues for daily driving and I just hit 150k miles. You shouldn't have any problems.

My 993 is pretty low - see pic below. I believe if it is ROW 030 but it could even be a bit lower, I’m not sure. I approach certain driveways, humps, etc cautiously and at an angle if possible but it has not been a major problem. The overhangs are quite short on these cars which really help.
It is no more challenging than my 992 C2S with sport suspension or 991 GT3 with FAL activated despite the 993 obviously not having FAL.

Ive had mine low for going on 8 years. No issues at all and it looks way better. IMO
Besides the car was engineered to be lower than US standards and is only raised due to US requirements. Go low! RC.

I ran HR spring for years on my 1998 C2S but found it was a bit too low and the ride was too harsh considering I was running the stock struts. Plus you had to be on high alert not to scrape the nose. About a year ago I upgraded to the Porsche Classic M033 struts and springs. (The M033 is the R.O.W. lowered height without the stiffer sport suspension.) Yes there are cheaper options available, but at this point I want to keep the car completely stock using all factory parts. IMO it's the perfect compromise for the street. The stance looks great, and it handles beautifully, yet still compliant enough for the roads in New Jersey--where the taxes are high and the potholes are deep!

Installed M033 springs, Koni shocks and refreshed suspension bits seven years ago. Run 17s in winter and 18s in summer. I watch for parking stops, steep transitions and really big humps but wouldn't ever consider going back.

Carniwals site looks like the from protection bars are backordered. Andy is indicating a need for a rear bumper skid plate. Any others second this need?
I am awaiting delivery of Ohlins R&T (this will be my only deviation from stock) so I understand this gives me flexibility on height; I like the idea of it being at a 'stock' ride height (it's 5 o'clock somewhere)

I have a Gert front protection bar. They are great.
Some background might be helpful. The 993 was designed to RoW ride height. Porsche took a shortcut to meet US bumper law and raised the height to 993 to avoid having to do any expensive testing or re-designs. US ride height is like an "SUV". Do yourself a favor and put the car to RoW and don't over think it.
Take another look at post #2 from @gavonder . Look how silly the car looks at US ride height. It's like the car is on stilts.
I have never had an issue in the rear, and my car is at ~RS+10 (which is lower than RoW).
