Prices on air cooled are rapidly rising. Your sale price sounds too low to me. .

Thanks and I agree. I think it should be in the low 80’s, but discounted the price to cover any duty or brokerage that might be payable. My broker told me that duty does not have to be paid if the car has been in Canada for less than 3 years, which it has. That said, I lost a sale to a nervous buyer because she was afraid of having to pay duty.

IMO, any serious buyer of any "special/not-common" vehicle will search every market so where you advertise isn't important. Anyone hunting for your specific car, will find it. Rennlist Marketplace and PCA Marketplace is where I'd list it. If there is a serious buyer, he will find you and you and they will avoid the theatrics of the auction sites.

This is how I would like to get it done, if I was to sell my car. Glad to hear their is a sane way to sell a car.

Thanks Denny. I have it listed on both, so we’ll see what transpires. I’m putting the twists back on next weekend and I’ll get some good pics with the new suspension.

Beautiful car! I would suggest taking many, MANY pictures of the car of every possible detail as the BAT auctions do. Take time to get the lighting right and even consider hiring a local pro or enthusiast. Make sure they are current with no "well that's an old picture" possibilities. I love watching the BAT auctions but putting my own car in would scare me.......one or two questionable comments and it becomes a train wreck.

It's funny, as I get older, simpler is better seems to be my taste in cars. 20 years ago (!!!) when I began the hunt for my first 911/993 I told myself I'd keep it a short time, then get a WB car, then a Turbo, and hopefully one day an RS. Here I am at 53 and 993s that interest me most are "standard" C2 coupes. Polar Silver/Black is such a classy and classic combination too. The right buyer is out there so be patient. Good luck with the sale!

I have used Sloan Motors to sell 2 of my 993s. Like you said, no comments from peanut gallery, plus those looking for great quality, go to Sloan.

Default For pure entreatment

Clicking on BAT to bid or sell, not so much, but for pure entertainment and the occasional informative tidbit, it's not so bad.

I was checking out BAT and saw that a 109,000 mile tip in pretty rough shape sold for $60K a few weeks ago. So, I reached out to see about listing my car. They came back last night saying that they thought it would take a price of $60,000 to get my car to sell. I asked why given that my car has 37,000 miles and is mint....no response. That made the decision not to go with BAT pretty easy!

I think if you have a very nice, low mile, desirable car, selling on BaT without a reserve is probably the way to go- if you can take the stress!

I recently sold an NSX that way, and did very well. But I was sweating during the last minutes!

Sorry, don't have the stomach for that! I have 2 interested parties from the PCA marketplace right now and if neither buys it, I may just keep it a while longer. Every time I tell a potential buyer about it I keep thinking...do you really want to get rid of this right now? I know...total flake!!!

Update on BAT…I reached out to the fellow that handled my Camaro listing last year and voiced my displeasure with the low reserve comments. BAT responded today and apologized and said that they made a mistake. So, I may list it next week. I have one interested party that I want to give a little more time to make a decision.
