Cool Celebrating the 993 turning 30 years, in the best way possible!

Certainly can't think of many better ways to top this?

Highlights
  • Meeting Tony Hatter, the Porsche designer who penned the 993 all those years ago
  • Convoying with 30 or so 993s for almost 2 hours
  • Filling Porsche Centre Bournemouth with as many 993s as possible, under the showroom lights
  • Enjoying a live Q&A session with Tony Hatter at Porsche Centre Bournemouth
  • Icing on the cake: Having Tony Hatter ride as a passenger in my 993 for around 30min, chatting all things 993
  • Cherry on top: Having Tony Hatter sign my very own 993!

Tony Hatter with my 993:

None of the above would've been possible without Lee & 9WERKS (https://9werks.co.uk) team's ideation and execution (despite Storm Ciarán's best attempts to derail planned activities). Forever thankful to them, Tony, as well as Porsche Porsche Centre Bournemouth, for helping create some fantastic memories.

That looks a great event and a fantastic way to celebrate 30 years of the 993!

I have met Tony Hatter a few times over the years, he is such a nice chap and generous with his time to chat, he still owns a black C4 with a turbo front bumper as far as I know?

He was kind enough to sign the "frunk" of my own car a few years ago, I have a photo of him signing it and particularly like that he was wearing a large hat at the time!

This is the coolest story I have seen in while! What a great experience, particularly having him ride along with you.

I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Hatter a number of years ago at a Tech Tactics event where he discussed his design of the 981 Cayman. He was very kind, very funny, and generous with his time.

Can only agree with you both - he's very down to earth and had time for everyone .
He's just as passionate about the 993 today as I imagine he was back then; the 30 min or so in the car just flew by!

You're right, he still owns that Black Cab, running Turbo front bumper and Turbo Twist wheels - he specficially pointed out they were Hollow Twists variants. Classy! .
He saw the YouTube video on my car last year, soon after it had the mid-weight flywheel installed, and then decided to opt for the very same item himself - so we had more in common than can have imagined!
