Welcome to the forum!

My condolences on your loss. I can certainly understand the mixed feelings.

Otherwise, I am likely a bit biased in saying this, but Guards Red 993 C2's are the best! Enjoy!

So sorry for your loss.

Great story and it's nice to see the 993 will be enjoyed.

Welcome to the madness.

Great car great color, the more you drive it the more you will make it your own.
Here is a page that provides a good orientation for new owners of a 993.

Thank you so much for the kind words, and for the link to that helpful page. Much appreciated!

I have the Michelin PS AS4 tires on my 993 and NSX, they are amazing.

When I was younger I had Fister exhaust on a previous 993, but these days my old ears and old brain think the factory exhaust is just right- throaty and sophisticated without being obnoxious.

Your car is still at US spec ride height, a popular first mod is to change to the "ROW" (rest of the world) springs to lower the cars to proper height. It won't look "low," it will just look right.

Here's one popular source for that stuff. The M033 springs are what most folks use, but they also offer the stiffer M030 sport springs if you like.

Another good change is to upgrade the lighting.

Here's a source for a kit to upgrade the turn signals and tail lights to LED.

And here's a source to upgrade your headlights with modern projectors and HID bulbs.

Or just drive the car as is and enjoy it!
Those all sound like interesting and noteworthy recommendations, centerpunch! I will enjoy digging into them further. Thank you so much!

It's a beautiful car and has clearly been loved. Keep enjoying it.

I've done the suspension and lighting upgrades centerpunch describes. They enhance and improve the car and your enjoyment of it and are well worth your consideration.
Thank you so much for the kind words, Jim. And I’m also happy to know that you support centerpunch’s upgrades to the suspension and the headlights. I will think about those even more!

I think that’s just great for you to be able to enjoy your dad in this way going forward. I lost my dad ten years ago but in the 1990’s he had asked me to have his two owner 1955 t-bird restored that I had grown up with. After a two year total restoration I returned it to him but he suddenly decided that he was afraid to drive it in the Miami traffic and wanted me to sell it for him, which I did - big mistake. I’ve been searching for that car for over twenty years using my 30 years experience as a federal agent with no success. T- bird clubs, public records etc, etc. I’m so happy for you that you have secured your dad’s beautiful 993.

Here’s mine, a close copy of yours but a 1995 and tiptronic (bad back demands it unfortunately!). Honestly though it’s fine.
