SSK+ GR from Fister (FD Motorsports). It is what I have on my 964.

Depends on what outcome you want. I had the OE RS short shift and OE RS rod for the past 16 years or so, then I swapped the shifter out for the Numeric (which still uses the RS rod). I can say that the shifter sits a little lower now and the shifts are rifle-bolt precise, bordering on notchy. The RS shifter sits a little bit higher than stock, making it slightly closer to the wheel. And it really does transform the car from the sloppy stock shifter and is a great middle ground between stock-slop and the Numeric setup. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Just FYI, here's the height difference. RS on left, Numeric on right.

I run with the Numeric with goldenrod in my 964. I found it to be a game-changer. You’re simply better connected to the transmission. The Numeric removes close to 80% of the slop in the stock shifter. Eliminating the forward rod, and the bushes and rod in the shifter, really makes for precise shifting. Some great feedback here in this 964 Thread

I have the SSK + golden rod from FDM. It replaced the completely stock setup on my 96 Carrera. I am very happy. Precise and crisp.

Just one more plug for SSK + GR from FDM - great shifting action!

I’m not at all impressed with the numeric in my car. The adjustable GR is a must or it has clearance issues. Also make sure to use loads of shaft locking compound or red loctite else it will vibrate loose in a week. They say blue but that’s not strong enough.

Their customer service is garbage. Waited 16 weeks for mine when the website says in stock. I’d look at the Rennline unit or similar
