Interesting product, but is this really an improvement over PPF? I have magnetic numbers for racing. Any dirt on surface of car or magnet will rub into the paint if/when the magnets move at all. And the magnets expand and contract in the sun/shade. You can place these magnets over PPF, but what’s the point?

Ah, I do think these would provide some extra protection for track days, and especially autocross. Cones tend to clip the fenders, especially on my wide body. And you don’t want to be afraid of the cones. The magnets might actually prevent damage.

Also a good temporary repair until you replace the cracked PPF.

Could you color match them in arctic silver? The black looks better on black, and white.

Had my MagnaFins for about a month. In addition to added protection, I get a lot of complements on their looks - matte black with light grey Porsche lettering.

As the car is primarily outside at night, they have stuck well even in freezing temperatures. Highly recommend them.

I like Magnafins a lot. Belts and suspenders if you ask me. I own a specialty Porsche dealership and we sell both newer and older Porsches. Many of the older cars don't have the factory PPF, so the magnafins are easy for practical use when driving, and can easily be removed when showing the car.

I while the thick factory PPF is amazing protection, it does get sandblasted, scratched, gouged, etc. Magnafins eliminate that.

Super easy to prevent the dirt scratching paint - don't apply them to a dirty car. Wipe the car down first and make sure the fin is clean. Pretty simple.

Shane takes great care that the fit is perfect, the materials are top notch, and the customer is happy. One of the best and best-value mods you can make for Porsches.

Exactly. I currently have my Magnafins on all of the time to cover up my cracked and pitted clear stone guards. However, after I eventually replace the battered factory guards, I will use the Magnafins as extra protection whenever I go on those spirited drives on back roads. Or when I am feeling like a nostalgic look.

Thanks for the info.

Getting the guards in the same color as the car would be nice but I don’t believe it is offered - EDIT - Black matte, black glossy and carbon fiber black only….$200 and up...

Maybe they can be painted? But probably not worth it.

I replace my clear PPF ones every 4-5 years, it has become easy…..3M film - $25 a set...and 2 hours time...

A little extra road rash protection on road trips is a good idea and a must if you like to exceed the posted speed limits on back roads!

Another happy customer here. Placed them on my 991 for a trip through the NC mountains and Tail of the Dragon. Haven't tried them out yet on track. Thanks Tx Targa! May need a set for my 993.

^^ I actually like that. I have a Polar Silver car and I'm getting ready to remove my old stone guards and replace with new. I might be interested in that instead, looks much better than black over silver.

Whoa bit of a savage move to delete all of Shane's ANSWERS to members questions! I have some custom, extended film on my car. It's pricey to replace (and one more thing to manage) and I've had to do it several times. Since I got the magnafins, they have taken the absolute brunt of the damage on road trips. I love 'em. In town I don't run them but when going out of town a doing a 1000 mile trip which I try and do a couple of times a year I absolutely run them, then when I get home they live on the underside of my lift until next time.
