You know, I've loved Maritime Blue ever since I got into Porsches 20 years ago. I've always dreamed of building a 993 in that color, but forever thought it was out of my reach. By the time the body shop was done fixing all the rust and other imperfections on my car there was practically no original paint left. So of course I had to ask... And the answer was surprisingly reasonable, considering they are doing the wheel wells, underside, frunk, engine bay and interior in Maritime Blue. Basically 50 additional hours of labor. I just knew I had to do it. So here we are... Now we begin to reassemble it.
It's a shame it was a standard color choice in Europe/R.O.W. but not North America. Had to order it Paint to Sample and pay a modest premium over here. I'd rank it above Riviera, Gulf, Mexico and ALL the modern iterations like Shark. One of my favorites:
@ilko will be bringing back the old school 993 Rennlisters.... Now that you have been a West Coaster for awhile you have forgotten how ugly underneath a daily driven NY C4S can be.... This will be a fun project for sure! Glad a 993 is being saved!
indeed… several OG 993 rennlisters re-emerging. I’ll be posting more details of my current 993 project soon.
