Shane

Princeton did the graphic design on programming for our HWFMR website. The words were done by that guy who was calling from Chicago and bugging you all week.

We saw Johnny Herbert with what looked like a 24 oz can of Red Bull. So that's how you guys stay awake all night.

Kevin's sitting next to me here in the garage and says to "give everyone my best and thank everyone for their support". We're having a great race so far and it's exciting to have a community of people pulling from us from home.

Kevin also says he loves the "turtle strategy" comment that someone posted earlier - says "I guess it must be true!"

AWESOME TURTLE SHOTS IN PITS!!!!

(We need to get that shot of the car coming in to the pits with the logo easily visible for the website. It was just before they broke to go to the Poke-a-nose roundy-round race.)

Skip

I can't believe I missed that shot.

After 9 bleary-eyed hours. Dammit.

Anyhow I'm now at home as you can see from the name on this post, and without Speed (no jokes please) willl try to get the Radio Le Mans broadcast.

We may reconvene early tomorrow at Jeff's for the finish.

Most fun I've had watching a race in years. thanks Kevin, thanks Shane, thanks TRG and most of all thanks to the man with the gleam in his eyes, John D.

currently overall 21st (out of 30 left in race) and 6th in GT class (11:00 AM Sunday) - the turtle is moving up. This is the most excisiting Le Mans I have ever had. Thanks so much for that.

Go #81

Chris

13:19 CET: Up to position 19 overall and 5th in GT class - 4 laps ahead of the Ferarri which has just had a 15mins pit stop. and 1 lap behind the French Luc Alphand Team - Go Team TRG, you can catch that old skier!!!!

Chris

What amazes me - is the Turtle is running 6th in class!! Up from position... Well - way back further...

Here is the release from Shane...

With 18 of 24 hours of racing recorded, the #81 TRG Porsche broke the top 20 positions overall, sitting in 6th position in class. Ian Donaldson, having taken over the controls from Gregor Fisken just after dawn, battled his way through the field and gained two positions in his stint. He in turn gave the car over to Lars Nielsen, who promptly placed the car in the top 20.

Donaldson explained, “I was having a very trouble-free stint, until one of the prototypes and I got into it in one of the chicanes. There was a good bit of debris just offline! We’re having a tremendous run and things are going very well. It was fantastic to watch Gregor drop his lap times in the latter half of his double stint just before I got in, and it looks like Lars has picked up where I left off and gained us a track position.”

Team owner Kevin Buckler said, “I really couldn’t have scripted any better how everything’s unfolding for us – the car, the drivers, the team, the strategy, it’s all been flawless. We just keep chomping away at the leaders. We’re in a real cat-and-mouse game with the only remaining Ferrari right now, and we keep changing positions with them on every pit stop. It’s funny, we’ve all been up for over 24 hours now, and everyone’s really into it. I’m real proud of the entire team. “

In the remaining six hours of the race, each driver will drive at least once more each, so a confident tension is pervasive in the TRG garage.
