Potentially dumb question alert!

Does anyone have experience with putting crossbars or a roof rack on their 993 cab? I came across this old photo, obviously not a 993, but it got me thinking.......
All of the roof accessory products I find online are designed to attach to the rain gutters on coupes - My '95 cab has rain gutters but only for about the length of the window glass. Has anyone tried to mount roof accessories to a cab's gutter?
Two Thule crossbars, even if mounted close together would let me strap on my surf board or skis and really open some new possibility for fun road trips.

If you ride a shortboard just recline the front seat and shove the board fins first into the footwell and lay back on the seat. If you ride a long board then get yourself a fish

I’ve seen an “exoskeleton” type roof support system for Boxster’s….but never a 993 cab. There are a number of options for a rear hitch, that bolts under the rear bumperette’s. Then lots of hitch mounted carriers to compliment.

I still have the 993 gutter mount Thule rack, different height feet, crossbars…with bike trays still all together. It hangs on the main garage wall. I have so much Thule bits, going back almost 35 years. Always put a roof rack on everything I’ve owned…except the Boxster won’t suffer that fate.
