Default 1996-1998 S bodied cab???????????

I was told a factory S (turbo look) cab was produced sometime during the 1996-1998 run of 993's. It was supposed to be in a very limited run of perhaps 20. Has anyone heard of this either in a 2S or 4S form or maybe even own one? I have only seen one for sale in a Boston specialty car dealership about 4 years ago at it went quickly at a high price!

No such cars were produced. At least not for the North American market. However, I do know of a handful which were converted by a local dealer in L.A. I don't know of any others.

Maybe it was converted. The dealer was Sovereign Motors in Boston and the owner was quite sure it was factory. But since I have never seen one since for sale, I will believe you until someone comes up with more info. Thanks

Team Historian? Hmmm

I kinda like "Team Know It All"

One, because he does, and two because he doesn't take himself too seriously.

Plus it would be one of the more technically acurate team titles

The dealership was Beverly Hills Porsche and they made 4 C2S into widebodied cabs. One of those is an arena red one and it is for sale in Las Vegas presently. I had previously seen a black one on Ebay (Tip) about a year ago.

I had heard rumors of a widebodied cab being made for someone in Germany, but it wasn't for export to the USA.

I'm pretty sure there were about 20-30 turbo cabs made by the factory using the 964 turbo 3.6 motor. I do not know if these were wide bodies or not though.

For the USA, Porsche didn't make a widebodied or narrow body turbo cabriolet. They only made the 1991, 1992 and 1994 3.6 Turbo. None of these were cabs. They did however make over 240 1992/1993 widebodied "Turbo Look" cab called the America Roadster. these cars had all the turbo stuff, but no turbo motor. Many people in the "aftermarket" did put turbo motors in these cars, but that was not factory cars.

I think Kim said it best when he coined Viken, "The Viken".

The Viken, Hey Wait For Me Racing.
