By Design. The silver one belongs to the mechanic there and IIRC is based on a salvaged 964 speedster shell with a 993 motor. Not sure who ones the yellow one but it looks like an older 911 with updated 993 body parts..

This looks interesting. It also looks as though the entire cab top has to be removed to fit the new bodywork. Can anyone confirm or refute this?

Thanks

David,

How can you tell the yellow one is an older one?

I would guess the rear wheel offsets and rear caliper positions are a telling clue.

Just my guess

Sorry about fishing in this old thread, but I found pictures of those two Speedsters at times and especially the silver one is a little bit mystical.

You wrote "by Design", is that a dealer in LA? I just tried to find it out with google, but without any finding. Do you have more information (website or address) of this company?

Thank you!

The silver car is 964 based and the yellow car is based on an '84 Targa ... The man behind it all is Dan Aspesi .. he now owns his own shop in L.A. called 'The Speed Gallery' ..
