Default HWFMR Renewal

In an effort to renew my HWFMR membership, I ran my first ever race today. It was a mixed class race where the Spec Miata's were moving chicanes for the big boys. The other cars were, 993 Cup car, Viper Comp Coupes, Cheetah DSR, Radical SR3, full on race 'Mustang', E46 M3's, C05 Corvette...all race prepped cars...and the SM's.....

I'll have you know that in my very first race I was DFL (Dead F...ing Last) in class, and I also had a +360 degree spin....but somehow stayed on track (hardly by my doing...) and losing only one track position and 10 car lengths.....

The only non-HWFMR thing was winning a $10.00 price for 4th in class after combining the results of the 2nd race....so I'm a professional Turtle now....

Kim, you did great! DFL is much better than DNF! Where was this race held?

So......now that your 'in the money', do you need an agent? You know, someone to manage your winnings?

I dunno, Kim. I think you're on shakey ground w. your membership renewal, what with winning actual prize money *and* publically admitting it.

Sounds like the only way to come clean would be to immediately divest yourself of that tainted money - preferably by buying beer for the BT.

That combination of cars in one run group sounds scary. It's one thing in an enduro, but a sprint race? Glad (most) everyone kept it together. I saw an Acura upside down outside of T10 at Thunderhill in December, my only surprise was that it hadn't happened sooner. He was driving like a Fast 'n Furious guy on meth.

Way to go Kim... We knew you could do it. I am a little concerned though. You must have been going pretty fast in the SM to do a full 360. I would think that all momentum would be lost about 180.

Kim... DFL??? That should be good enough for HWFM membership renewal. Howver, I must admit that I'm dissappointed. By your continuing the HWFM tradition and being DFL I can't send you a spankin'!!!

All kidding aside, congrats on running your first race!

Great job finishing in the money. I didn't know you had turned pro. You should plow some of that back into your racing budget & use the rest for a well deserved vacation. LOL

Seriously, sounds like you're having fun ... that's the point, right?

Hey, you didn't crash, right? Sounds like a good race to me. Did you have any fun?

OK, for your next event, how about a 'web-cam' from your roll bar. We then could rig-up a hands-free cell phone so we can cheer you on. Then again, in true HWFMR fashion, who needs 'hands-free'....just drive with one hand

LOL! You get tired fast when your heart is beating 160 beats per minute and you're holding your breath. You'll get used to that pretty quickly, and when you learn to relax a little, you won't get near as tired.

Now do you understand why racing is referred to as "Hitting the Go-Fast Crack-Pipe?" Are you hooked yet?
