Default PSS9 Question

I have a quick question for those of you have installed PSS9s. On the fronts, did you remove the blue plastic cover from the adjustment ****? With the cover in place I can't get a good feel for the detents at each setting. Leaving it on might keep the **** cleaner, but it would also make it more difficult to adjust.

I threw the covers away about a year ago. Just adjusted the fronts about 2 weeks ago, and nooooo problems what so ever.

I left the blue covers on. No need to remove to adjust the fronts. The detents are vague hence I adjust by percentage of turn from full soft to full stiff. In fact, easier to turn **** with covers on as the cover provides a better grip.

I leave mine off and have had no problems to date (8 months). For me, the problem was after you get the **** set, it's very difficult to get that blue cover back on w/o disturbing the setting you just made. I played with it before they were installed and many times I would pull the cover back off and see the setting was different from what I had dialed.

I'm sure others will have differing opinions.

I have left the caps off, makes it easy for adjustment.

Seems like the consensus is to leave them off. OK, there are only four responses, but that's good enough for me!

I left them off after adjusting the setting on saturday. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't messing anything up.

I leave mine on, with the assumption that Bilstein put them there for a reason. And since I only use 2 settings (full stiff or nearly full soft), being certain of the detents isn't much of an issue.

I left mine on using the same reasoning as Eric but was a bit concerned about the settings drifting off the mark.

JW,

I do it the same way as Eric, Gary, and Mark. Keep the covers on so you protect the **** and the area from road junk.

I left mine on too, and do as others do. I just use near full stiff, and half stiff. You could probably mark them on the blue cap with an indellible marker, and they would be easier to see anyway.

Well then, quite a shift in opinions. I still have the caps, so I guess I should pop 'em back on. I stand corrected.

Thanks, all.
