I am still trying to put the words together to post.
I am in shock. I am at a loss. The words will come.
I have read all the posts. I have read all the articles. I have seen the pictures.
The words will come.
Chris - my thanks.....

I never met Ben but read many of his Post on the Carrera GT forum and I remembered when he brought his car home. I think we should all pay tribute to him not just this weekend with the avatars. I'm going to leave mine up to remind me that life is very precious and that even though we are all privileged to have a special SUPERCAR it does not make us invincible......Take Care and Godspeed to the Keaton and Rudl family.

Oh and remeber a track worker is usually a volunteer, and although we appriciate their supporting our "fun", never take for granted what they communicate to you.....keep your eyes open and attention up.

This is from the NASCAR site:
Crash at California Speedway kills 2: Two San Diego County men died when the Porsche they were racing crashed and caught fire Thursday morning at California Speedway in Fontana, authorities said. Benjamin Miles Keaton, 39, and his passenger, Corey Nicholas Rudl, 34, both of La Jolla, died from injuries after Keaton lost control of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car left the track, careened onto a grassy area and struck a barrier. The engine compartment then caught fire, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff's report. On-site medical personnel, the same used for NASCAR and Indy Racing League events at the speedway, responded at 10:40 a.m. and quickly extinguished the fire, sheriff's officials said. Rudl, who worked in Internet marketing, was pronounced dead at the scene; Keaton was airlifted to Loma Linda University Hospital, where he died about an hour later, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner's Office.
He died doing what he loved.

Just got back from Ben's tribute at Crystal Cove. There were MANY cars and people. Although I have never personally met Ben and the majority were the same, he still touched so many. RIP.
