HI,
I'm looking at a 96 993 at an independent dealership. I'm not sure if the contents of the toolkit are complete. Can comeone tell me what should be in it
Thanks

It is available, maybe????
I just ordered a 12 point from Sunset in Oregon, $19.68 + shipping, no tax in Oregon! It was the last one in stock. Will they get more? Who knows....I always thought the tool was missing from my tool kit...and on Rennlist I find out it was never there in thre first place. Whewww, that is one less nagging little item recirculating in RAM memory...now I can let that go. This here Rennlist...very similar to therapy.

So waht should be in the kit?
Hi guys,
Good information on the fan belt tool - what else should be in the kit ? My 928GT has about 5 wrenches, a spark plug socket, screwdrivers, towing hook, air pump, jack - don't remember what else.

I would recommend the Snap-on tri-square bit over the factory tool, particularly on a turbo. My belts obviously hadn't been changed in a while and I bent two wrenches using the snap-on bit with a combination wrench and a piece of pipe as an extension before i could free up the nut on the end of the alternator shaft. I would never have got enough leverage with the Porsche tool and having it alone in the tool bag gives a false sense of security.
On a turbo there isn't enough room to use the factory tool.
And the factory wrenches in the kit are cr*p, made from very cheap metal. Get something decent. The link above is a very good list of what you should carry.
