Sierra Fun Runs, lots of pics
Hi All,
Thanks to the great Jim Morton, I had a chance to take my RUF out to stretch her legs with six more gorgeous 993s. We went through the Sierra, and stayed overnight at Yosemite.
I took the long way home and passed through the Sonora Pass (9,412' elevation) and there is snow all around me.
837 glorious miles in 2 days. What a great trip. And hat's off to Terry. He went with us on Friday, and split off to LA to join the Malibu run on Sunday morning. What a trooper. I wish I have his stamina and drive (pun intended) when I'm his age.
hey wait a aminute, I AM his age.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

Glad you guys had a great time! I really regret that I missed out on this one! You guys needed another light colored car to create balance. Damn work always gets in the way.

Hi Folks,
Thanks to Jim's intimate knowledge of our area, we had some incredible roads. The lovely scenery was icing on the cake.
Unfortunately I was the laggard of the group, so much thanks to David and others who stayed behind to take care of me. Rennlisters are just the best group of people to be around.

Thanks CP for the nice compliment.
The idea for this drive came a few months back when a bunch of us got to talking about how it would be fun to have a 2+ day drive, where at least on day was during the work week. Removing the need to return home in one day opened up the ability to use roads in the Sierra foothills and even some at higher elevation routes. Here is a group picture about 30 miles from the closest mapped highway. The roads in and out of this area were simply amazing !
As CP mentioned, our long distance specialist Terry Adams went on from the first day to join another drive in the lower half of the state ! Here is Terry "in action":
The next photo says it all about Rennlist spirit:
Enjoy !

Ahhhhhh......just the kind of roads the cars were made for.....I wish I could have joined you for this run but it's a bit far from San Diego...........
Last week I ditched work and through great luck, was able to run AFAP for about 20 miles in the Laguna Mountains before I encountered any slower traffic ..........what a morning, what a drive & what a car
