Well said. In one of his routines, George Carlin once questioned, "Ever notice that anyone who drives faster than you is a 'maniac', and anyone who drives slower than you is an 'idiot'?"

95 C4 993,

Rod Birch installed Image Dynamics subs in my 993's rear footwells as shown in your photos. There should be a detailed thread on the installation if you do a search. The subs are excellent and well-integrated. He even sourced the original chestnut brown or burgundy carpet for them, and the kids still can ride in the back, albeit with a little less room for their feet. Rod is an absolutely great guy, and knows his stuff.

Best of luck with your decision.

If you don't need the rear seats, there is a guy selling a custom sub enclose on ebay for a 993.

I put two Alpine SWD-1600 units in my 993 Cab. One under each of the front seats. Both are hooked-up to an Alpine Head-Unit with sub output - sounds great.

I had no idea their was enough room to fit subs under the seats. Thats great ! If I had known, I probably would have gone that route vs the custom rear seat delete- sub replacement.

Subwoofers, 50 cent, spinners...well we should send the RL Porsche Police and confiscate the 993, sell it and buy him a ricer for 1/3 of the price, the rest we should have a BBQ

That comment is about as stereo type as it gets. Those who tune into their engines for several hours on a road trip, Im sorry but thats like playing the same record over and over. If thats your thing, so be it. Super pounding base is one thing, quality sound is another. If subwoofers are for ricers, then Porsche's arent made for Canadians. Thought you guys where supposed to get around on ice skates and snow plows.

I have spoke with Rod before and been tossing around the sub option for a couple of years. Not a top priorty but there is a lot of money versted in my existing system so I need to improve it some-I have 1 blown speaker for sure, maybe 2. Start with the speakers, maybe add the sub later. Like the idea of the ones under the seats as well.

Another option - I recently added the Sirius SIR-PS1 powered subwoofer in the rear footwell.

Default mine are in the door

I used 2 kicker free air midbass drivers in the doors. They dont sound crappy like most free air applications. I had about $500.00 of special dampning compound applied to the doors so the are airtight and dont rattle. I have CDT audio seperates in kick panels for superior imaging. The bass doesnt go super low but it does sound very accurate and tight. I also have a Brax 4 channel amp mounted to a custom amp rack mounted to the shock towers in front of the fuel tank. I wanted the car to appear stock but sound great.
