For the best fit and finish...PORSCHE. Aftermarket vendors include MA Shaw and Getty Design.

Factory kits are the best IMHO. Contact Gert at www.carnewal.com

Cool Factory Aero Kit

Gert Carnewal, a long time Rennlist Sponsor, and an incredible businessman with 100% integrity, has the complete Factory kit for a nice investment. I say investment because factory parts seem to hold their value when it is sell time. I suspect that Gert's Kit is close to $4,000.

I had to buy piecemeal...first the splitters, then the side skirts and then the tail. I couldn't slip the entire purchase past wifey. She never noticed the side skirts but the front splitters were spotted right away!

I bought the front splitters and side skirts from Gert. The fit and finish on the polyurathane front splitters is the best. There is minimal prep required for painting...aftermarket fiberglass may take more work to fit...and it is fiberglass...I don't like the crack and split characteristics of something fiberglass so low and up front on the body, susceptible to road damage.

The side skirts from Gert are the factory polyurethane, in black. On the 993RS car they are never painted. The fit and finish of the sidee skirts is outstanding, worth every penny....no paint required.

The tail....had I bought the RS aerokit complete, back in 2002 it would have cost about $3,000 for everything, possibly less I can't recall. The tail is the most expensive part of the kit...by the time I was ready to buy the factory tail, it had gone up to over $2,000, JUST FOR THE TAIL! I always try to buy factory parts, but the aftermarket tail was available to $600....30% of the cost of a new tail.....I cheesed out and bought the aftermarket tail...I have gotten over it...it is our little secret that I have an aftermarket tail on my car.

If price is no object and you want your car to be clothed on genuine Porsche parts, buy the complete kit from Gert. If you want to save a few bucks, buy the splitters and side skirts from Gert, the tail from a Rennlist sponsor.

If you are way down on the budget, but the splitters and tail from a sponsor and the side skirts from Gert. I have not seen aftermarket side skirts....if they are available they would be in fiberglass....not recommended...they are a bit vulnerable down low....and they would look cheesy, IMHO. So now you know!

Default 993 Aerokit

Where did you get the aftermarket spoiler? I was thinking of getting the side skirts and splitters from Gert, but are your side skirts for an RS?

I have a MA shaw kit (RS wing and splitters) still in the box. I bought these a year ago and have yet to install them. At this point I don't know if I will ( a TT is calling my name pretty bad). I might part with these if the price is right.

If you buy Gerts RS aero kit you get all the little bits and pieces , fasteners and brackets that you never suspected that you would need.
The only thing that was a disappoinment was the way the grill fastened to the spoiler

Here is what the kit looks like unpacked

Default 993 Aerokit

Does anyone know what rear spoiler came with the Aerokit? I am trying to keep everything as "factory" as possible. I am leaning toward the twin turbo tail. I found aftermarket side skirts at RENNSPD, but I will probably go with GERT.

Here is a pic of my old car with the TT tail. Judge for yourself on the look you want to achieve.

The TT is better looking, but the only problem with that is that you loose the third brake light which could be an issue...

Just mount the ol' basket handle on the spoiler.

Do the RS side skirts sit lower (Martin's car) than the Aerokit 1B side skirts (Mike's car)? Beside ride height, it looks like Mike's factory side skirts sit lower to the ground? Also, do the RS skirts replace the existing NB ones or do they mount below the fatory ones?
