The graphics are a very personal issue. If you like them keep them.
I don't like to have writing on my car but there's nothing wrong with it. It looks great on yours,
I had a 74 911 with the graphics but my favorite graphics were on my 74 914 2.0. It was black with yellow wheels and yellow reversed graphics. It looked really cool. When I get some time I'll look for the photos and post them on here.
Less attraction and recognition from the law without the letters.

Here is your car 20 years earlier. Red, Black wheels, graphics and duck tail. It's a Targa...but close enough!

Looks great either way, the car itself is simply beautiful

w/o the black wheels I do not think it would work ... however as a total package it's pretty hot ...

I agree with several others... the duck tail, black wheels, guards red and the script complete the retro look. Keep it

If Porsche ever did that to the 993 cars it would be fine but I don't believe they ever did. Clearly, with red car, you're looking for looks so go for it!

The link a few above was to a 1974 Carrera 2.7. The guy claimed he had $55K of receipts to it,--what a POS.

I think you went with something that you liked in the first place, duck tail, and the graphics. Kind of like taking a test. Stick with your first instinct. Its all about what you like not what the rest of us likes. Thats probably why we all like to see other people's car photos here. It provides different looks and ideas. I had a turbo tail from a PO and ditched it, I'll bet alot of people here would've kept it and alot would have gotten rid of it. You have a 90's version of the 70's classic going and I think you pulled it off. Its not unlike what many auto manufacturers are trying to capture these days.

An update on a classic. If you didn't have the ducktail and wheels, I wouldn't think it was so hot. It really works well with your setup, though!

LOL...POS is an understatement! Maybe the receipt that he has for $55K is the original window sticker and maybe 1 oil change back in 1976! I've seen cars in junk yards with less rust than that!

Thanks for the positive comments guys (most of you anyway:-).

I'm sure I'll wind up doing my usual and keep the graphics till I get bored with them.

I'm a 51-49% car guy. 49 percent of me wants the car to remain in perfect stock condition, and 51 percent of me wants to personalize the car. So I usually try to personalize the car a bit but not go too overboard. For the 993 I just had the idea to try and give it a little retro touch and pay homage to earlier 911's.

The good thing is in one day (or less) I can go back to the classic look by swapping out rims, decklids and removing the graphics. The only real permanent changes are the front bumper and ROW m030 supsenion, which are two mods almost universally accepted.

Keep it safe, everybody.

I find the appearance acceptable, but I voted "no" mainly because the tail and graphics are simply anachronistic. Just not period-correct. Tough call IMHO.

I think it all goes together very well. The only thing I don't care for is the silver / aluminum edge on the wheels. All black would look beter, IMO.
