Cabriolet in wide body?
#61
I think I have one of these
I hate resurrect a long dormant thread but....I was in the process of selling my 97 993 cab. I always found it odd since it looks to me like a widebody. It was sold in NJ but transported from CA. I have a "dealer installed options sticker" that shows a Beverley Hills Aero Kit and cup wheels. There's no badging to indicate it's an S. I listed it on FB and potential buyer seemed to think it could be one of these. Any thoughts from the more knowledgeable than I community?

Look at the differences in the door sills where it meets up to the rear fender. Also, when the dealership did the upgrade, they added the front bumper/valance of the wide widebody. I am pretty confident that your car is a narrow body.

I own the '98 Arena Red Beverly Hills widebody car. They were all 1998 cars. This is a standard 'narrow body' Cab with a Turbo S tail and RS front splitters, you can see the rear quarters have no 'step' in the rocker to transition to a wider rear quarter. With the dealer ordering the factory parts, prep and paint and install of tail and splitters .. easy to hit $10k plus. My window sticker addendum for the widebody Carrera S work at Beverly Hills Porsche came to $34,890 in 1998.

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

Well .. don't despair, it looks like a nice cab and Arena Red is kinda rare surprisingly. Wheels are worth $10-15k alone if they're Speedline for Porsche .. I'd do your research, price it accordingly with wheels adding a premium to that and hold tight. Might do better in April/May when folks are thinking of top down summer driving.

I searched 993 cabrio on FB, set location to virginia, instantly found the ad, tried to post it, but I guess rennlist doesn't allow links to FB ads....

If you found my listing, why on earth did you not message me "Hello, is this still available?".🤣🤣🤣 I mean every other joker on the planet has...I've listed lots of cars on FB but never a 911. It's a whole different ball game.

But I'm not sure FB is the best way to sell a higher end car like yours. You should probably list it here and on the PCA site, even if you have to join just to do that.
