I think I'm at RS ride height (maybe just above it?) anyway, I have ZERO issues with bump-steer so I know I'm not that low..

I just know that I had rubbing at stock height way back when with 245s in front.. and I want to go to the 245s in front (not many available in 245 35 18 so I assummed 245 40 18)

so who is at RS ride height (without evo upright bump steer kit) without rubbing?
I think it is more a matter of increased negative camber on most of the lowered cars.

I have some 245/35 Dunlop SSRs that are fine up front - work well with the 265/35 SSRs in the rear, which are actually 285 wide. Rolling diameter is correct.

245/40 is surely a bit high on RD ?? 235/40 would be closer (and available), otherwise 245/35 , depending on the manufacturer .. !

HTH, cheers, Maurice

Each car is different from what I've learned. The only way to find out if they fit is to try them. Find someone who uses those sizes and borrow their wheels/tires. BTW, I do not have the evo uprights and my car is slightly below RS ride height.

Oh, and don't forget that 245 Hoosiers seem wider than the MPSC equivalent, 235 in this case.

o.k. thanks... I want to run 245 40 fronts and 275 35 18 backs (same ride height according to MFGR)

..that or I might just go back to another set of A048s next spring since these have done so well for me (and didn't wear out the edges like on the DSSRs)

I guess I have all winter to decide before I have to buy something else in spring...

I rolled my rear fenders but I have my doubts about 295s fitting without rubbing on my narrow body

My 245/35-18's also work fine up front without rubbing (both Pirelli P-Zero C's and the Dunlop SSR's) on Fikse FM-10's in an 8.5" width. Car is lowered with PSS-9's.

how do you like the P-zero C's? I had a set ONCE and they dry rot cracked on me badly within 3 months long before the tread wore out so I have very little faith in Pirelli brand now (granted they were the 1st generation pzero Comp and not the 'corsa' available now)

Where are you guys (and gals) finding the Dunlop SSR's?
I'm ready for some 275's after the next DE on an old set of 265/35 x18's

Ditto that. I'm getting 18" 245/35s mounted next week and am concerned about driver's side since there the tyres are sticking out more (due to the fact that 993's body is not cnter in the chassis. I'll roll the fenders if needed.

Also, everything depends also on what offsets people have, some with OEM offsets or other with aftermarket (different ) offsets will have different results. I think it would be helpul if everyone would mention rim width & offset when saying whether your 245s rub or not.

BTW, I agree, 245/40 is a tad too tall because then your i.e. 285 needs to be 35 (rather than 30) which is larger than stock. Which then makes 993s gearing even worse. That, and then fact that 245/35 with 285/30's smaller radius will help with gearing and has better chance of not rubbing.

993 WB with Factory 18 Hollow Spokes and stock offsets. 245/40 front, 295/30 rear Hoosier R6s. No rubbing a matched diameter.

Ok,

Here are two pics of 245's up front. The black wheels are Forgeline's with non-stock offsets running 245/35's and the others are the factory NB hollow spokes running 245/40's, both Hoosiers. You will notice how the stock wheels are more inset and actually give more room but don't look as good. BTW, with the 35's (short), I'm running 285/30's in the rear and with the 40's (tall), I'm running 305/30's in the rear.

TireRack sold out of all DSSRs earlier this year. I got a pair of fronts (used) from a fellow rennlister and my rears (purchased back in April of this year) are getting remounted after next weekend when my A048s wear out to use up the rest of this season (because I don't want to invest in a brand new set of R-Compounds and have them sit all winter only 1/2 used or less than 1/2 used up)

...so I doubt anyone is selling DSSRs any more (sorry)

I think only used ones are floating around right now...

Ceboyd, Thanks!

I picked up a new pair of 225's on E-bay and was looking for a set of 275's for the rear. I'll keep searching for a set, any one know of a set for the rears?
TIA, Rick
