fwiw, you don't want them too flush otherwise you'll get carbon build up on the bumper. My AMG factory tips extend out about an inch for that reason. My factory wide ovals are about an inch, and are positioned just like air eater's tips. I suppose in the end, it's the install of the mufflers, too (factory, aftermarket, etc..)
