How long was your search? First choice color?
Hello,
I've been seriously looking for my 993 since August. In that time, I've learned that I'm pretty picky in terms of condition and mileage. I've also identified the colors that I definitely don't want. That said, I think I may have found one that meets all of my requirements, but it's my 3rd choice color.
How long did your search take? How many of you stuck to your guns and got your first choice color? Or, as long as you don't "dislike" it, how much did color matter to you?

Stick to your guns. I bought a 993 that was my 3rd color choice and I was just never happy about it. Sold it and later bought one in my 1st color choice after looking really hard for a couple months. There's no point in hurrying; there are plenty of nice cars out there.

I looked for 7 months and for me had to be a wide body car over the colour. I wanted a silver car but an Arena red car came up. Over the 7 month time period I looked at a lot of colours here on Rennlist and decided that I would be happy with a "different" colour. Now that I have an Arena red car I love it and every person that talks to me about the car mentions how much they like it, especially women!
I did however want a black interior and I got that.
Buy the right car, the colour will grow on you once it is yours!

My search was over 1 year - I looked at about 7-8 cars in that time. All had issues I couldn't get over from exterior color to high miles to poor condition to tiptronic. My color choices were Speed Yellow, Arena Red, Adventurine Green, Grand Prix White, or Zenith Blue. My basis for those colors was that I didn't want popluar colors (except SY!!) but rather a color that stood out from the crowd.
My final choice did not meet the pre-selected colors, but I'm as happy as can be as there aren't many Pastel Yellow 993s running around!

Pretty good number of these cars in CA, makes it a bit easier. But took me about six months, off and on looking. Color was important, wanted one of the darker blues, traded off other things that I could fix down the road.

I don't have a lot of patience or time for looking, but am willing to wait while someone else does. So, when I wanted a white 993, I had my friend who is the co-owner of this place, www.highmarques.com, find it. Then when I let him know i wished I had a WB, he called me one day while I was in vacation a few hours away, and I drove up to see my C2S....and drove back to the beach house with it. My neighbors didn't realize that I had switched cars!
You will find what you want....one way or the other.
