Love the ceramic tile, Freddy!

I'd probably beat the crap out of it in short order with floor jacks, dollies and the like, though. Hopefully paint will look OK.

Freddy, thanks for posting the pic, mine are not the same color but tile anyway.

As already I said, with tiles, anything cleans out really easy and if you don't start dropping heavy items on them, theyare pretty strong too (I jack & jackstand my car without any plywood etc.)

Nice floors!

What is my best option for installing a floor over peeling paint and pitted spots? It's a small one car garage--but a nice floor will do wonders for it!

Do the Swiss Trax and Racedeck type tiles trap water and dirt under them, requiring a removal and cleaning after X number of years? Or does the dirt and grime drain out from under them using soap and a hose?

I'm thinking about using ceramic..but the larger tiles...and maybe no grout....no time soon though...

I went w/ RaceDeck, as well. It's easy to install and it looks great.

I found Swiss Trax through someone else's suggestion on this board. It was a really solid suggestion.

Anyway, I had these same questions. Swiss Trax has "Diamond Trex" and "Rib Trex". The Diamond Trex tiles and race deck are solid pieces and do not allow water or dirt underneath them. The Rib Trex are not solid pieces.

No real preparation for these other than sweeping.

That's what I'm talkin about!! And they're solid? Does moisture get trapped underneath, causing mildew or mold?? Or are they water proof (rain and rinsing off wise)?

I'm trying to decide what to do but I think I'd be scared of using ceramic. Given my ability to drop heavy stuff on the floor (mufflers, rotors, etc), I'd be afraid of cracking the tiles.

The Racedeck tiles have all kinds of grooves & slots everywhere underneath to allow water to drain. I submitted for a quote and they sent me a sample tile in the mail a few weeks ago.
