Default PCA 993 Registry

Why isn't there one? There are Special Interest Registrers for the following models:

911SC Register
911T 1969-1973 Register
911 Carrera 1974-1975 US Register
912 & 912E Register
928 Register
997 Club Coupe Register
Boxster Register
Cayman Register
356 Register
924/931 1976-1982 Register
911 Carrera 1987-1989 US Club Sport Register
914, 914/6 Register
RS America Register
944 Turbo S/1989 944 Turbo Register
944 S/944 S2 Register
968 Register
1992 Carrera Cup USA Edition Register
911 Speedster register
911 Turbo-Look/M491 Register
D'Ieteren Roadster Register
Jagdwagen (Type 597) Register
Porsche-Diesel Tractor Register

Any interest in starting a 1995 - 1998 911 993 register? Thoughts?

Although not part of the PCA directly the 993.org site is listed as PCA registered organizations... I registered my 993 there... Good experience...

Actually it is www.993registry.org. Not affiliated with PCA.

I dug up this very old thread, and question why there isn't an active 993Registry besides the "Post Your VIN" thread here??

I was the original creator of the US Carrera 2.7 Registry in the Special Interest Group in PCA and I talked to the then current Registrar Coordinator Mike Sousa about starting a 993 Registry. The commitment of time to do a 993 Registry web site and maintain that site current prevented me from starting one at this time. It would be great to have a 993 Registry to open up PCA members to our family. One of the other good things with establishing a 993 Registry is that Group meetings and events can be support financially by PCA.
If anyone here wants to talk about the Registry idea I am up for that conversation. Just a heads up PCA is currently looking for a SIG Coordinator on the national level.

Past President of the Carolinas Region, Harvey Yancey was the "registrar" for that site but his duties and business travels apparently got in the way. He has since sold his 993. He may still have the data collected and, if so, might be willing to share same with a successor.

Okay I sent off a message to National….as mentioned above there is currently a vacancy for the National Chair for Registrars so it may take a bit of time to get a response. Will advise once I get a response.

Smile I was going to....

volunteer to do the 993 site for PCA. I contacted the guy in charge (John Straub, San Diego PCA) and as I recall, he said I needed to have my own web site to be considered. Not certain why (Can't remember as this was about 10 years ago).

If you are selected, this may be a time consuming project.
