Default Motor Sound lid

Anyone know what fair price for a used motor Sound lid would be? I drilled my stock one, love the sound, but I found a factory one locally and am thinking about it. Also will my sound suffer?

Thanks

The sound won't be any different, assuming you put the same or more holes. The only difference would be the chromed air intake.

I paid Can$ 50.00 for a used motorsound lid last year. I think this was a good price.

Given the cost of those 'sound' package air box covers - new or second hand,

then does anyone know What effect / benefit does that bit of chrome bring?
or is it mainly 'bling'

as drilling holes is essentially free !

The chrome is bling--nothing more. It denotes that it is a Motorsound Airbox Cover.

If anyone wants a stock one to drill for themselves, I have an extra in perfect condition. Make me an offer.

OK.. so.. I'm probably opening up a can of worms, but my drill when you can juts pop-out the snorkel/horn from the stock intake cover. The resulting opening looks larger than the MAF intake. I can take a picture if anyone wants to see WTH I'm talking about...

Yes - the intake part is exactly the same, and actually interchangeable. I didn't like the look of the chrome (it's only shiny plastic, can look like polished aluminium or similar in photos, which would have been nice), so I swapped the black one from the stock airbox. I've now got a "stealth" Motorsound box.
