Default Hydraulic Lifters

One of my lifters is starting to make too much noise so I thought I'd do the right thing, 6 new lifters and new gaskets for the covers.

I phoned the nearest dealer, in Brisbane Australia. They wanted AUD$171.00 per lifter. Pelican got my order. Even taking into account shipping and duties it will be far cheaper.

What gives? How can dealers charge so much?

They don't call them stealers for nothing...
I had nothing but poor service and ridiculous pricing, with common consumables not stocked, at my local dealer. I don't ever go there any more.

I have had luck with Sunset Imports in Oregon. No affiliation, but I have purchased 14 lifters from them.

Knowing what I know now, I would do a bit more research, starting by looking at my lifter saga, you can find the posts easily.
Its not only the stealers that screw you, I found independents that were just as horny.
Do your own DD not all lifters are the same, even if they come from the same manufacturers, remember Porsche only assembles the car and engine/tranny pretty much everything else is manufactured by someone else.
I would look at getting them from Sunset (no afiliation) buy an extra one.
Good luck and post your results.

You can get OEM units that are used by Porsche, just not through Porsche. Here in the states it makes the difference between $90 at the dealer and $20ish elsewhere.
