It is important that you identify exactly which 050A's you are looking at. Bridgestone makes:
RE050
RE050A
RE050 RFT
RE050A II RFT
RE050A Pole Position
RE050A Scuderia

The RE050 line was designed to replace the S03 line, I believe.

Anyone care to give a current review on these RE050 PPs? I am in need of a set of tires for street use.
Thanks,
Michael

I love them. I have about 5K on them and have tracked them too.. They appear to be almost as sticky as the Pirelli P-Zero and I think they last longer. Not noisy either.. My 2 cents.

Tirerack has them ranked number one in their category. Everyone I talk to loves them. Great grip and last a decent amount of time (way more than p-zero, much like ps-2). The re050a pp is really tough to find at my local retailers.

I might get flamed but the potenza re750 is a great tire as well and probably $100 less per set.

Enough said. I am pulling the trigger on these for my OEM Turbo wheels on the TT.
Thanks,
Michael

Several mentions of RE750s. Just put on another pair in back. Hard to find - beware, many are telling me they are about to be discontinued. Tire Rack seemed to have plenty, though.

Default Bridgestone Pole Position

I also have had them on my 993 since they came out. I chose them due to the long wear rating and comparable wear rating to others that don't last as many miles. Can't go wrong with these.

Just on my drive home tonight with brand new re750s, i was amazed on how quiet the cabin was (vs. fairly new p-zeros). I could hear the engine!

I am a huge bridgestone convert. I found my re750's at the firestone complete auto care place - 625 installed for all 4 tires (including tire insurance).

I have the RE050A PP and have no complaints after ~5k miles. Good wet & dry adhesion. Good steering feel, and they seem to wear well. I plan to stay with them when it's time for new tires.

I have 5000 miles on my 540i and 2 track days on my 993 and they are great tires. No noise, great grip in the rain, and nice on the track. My old tires were yokahama avs 100's. At the track I noticed I could go faster in the corners with the pole positions before they started to squeal or break loose. So far I am happy with the wear.
