Default Price check on '97 C4S Rare Order

Hey Guys,
Looks like my '97 C4S may be for sale, I've been out of the loop for a while and wantd to get a fair market value. It was kind of a rare order sun roof and rear seat delete, so if your a tall guy 2 extra inches of head room. Here are the rest of the details:

Triple Black
66K miles
996 C4S wheels
Recaro cloth sports seats
motor sound package
New HD's & M030 suspension less than 1000 miles
sunroof & rear seat delete

I have the stock wheels and seats if someone wanted it original. Very nice car would not consider it a garage queen. Consumes 1 quart of oil every 3500 miles so motor is not an issue. Looking for some input. Thanks in advance.

I have a 97 C4S with 72k miles, neither sunroof delete nor rear seat delete, however I think I would be happy with $40K, but probably closer to $35K. Further, I have added the usual mods, such as Blistens and turbo sways, two sets of basically new tires (summer/winter), euro turbo front, new 3M clear bra, FPR, C2S split grill, HIDs, and a rennlist window sticker!

In any event, maybe I am all wet with my numbers and good luck with your sale.

Rob

BTW, love the 996 turbo wheels - I would have gone that way except I personally think they look way better on darker cars.

If the new owner doesn't take the original wheels, I'd be interested in them, depending on where you are located.

Oh, and you can throw that girl [****] in your avatar in the deal just for being a paying Rennlister

$42,000+ should be a good starting point.

I don't think the "delete sunroof" and "delete rear seats" add any value. Matter of fact, I might even go as far as to say, they detract value. The car is not an RS and I know people who are 6'4" and have no problems with sunroof.

I would base your selling price solely on condition, mileage, desierability, etc. and forget about those other items. I would not buy a C4S without a sunroof. A lot of people go sans roof to save weight, but on a AWD car, it makes little to no sense.

Not trying to bash your car.. It's a hot vehicle.. I just want to be the voice of reason here.

Reason has many voices .... and at 6'6", I would have paid extra for my C4S were it a sunroof delete: ditto for the rear seats, as they are of little value if the front seats are racked back.
$$ ? - low 40's

Good point Garth...

So, now we just have to find Prez a 6'6" buyer... Sounds like most of the Porsche owners I know.
lol..

btw, I don't know how this effects things, but there is a very specific reason Porsche always installed those useless back seats. INSURANCE. With back seats, the car is a 2+2. Without the back seats, the car is a 2 seater sports car. There is a huge price difference in insurance premiums and Porsche knows it.
So to make the car more attractive to the potential buyers, they included back seats to keep the insurance rates down.

Now, I don't know if a 993 with back seat delete would register with the insurance company as a
2+2 or a 2 seater, but I would rather have those useless back seats and no arguments with my carrier.

Default A very rare Porsche

I think you would be looking at $49,500.......do the 60k service and take back to original....and get the best shop out there to do a PPI for you and fix any little issues.....great marketing tool as it can take all the mystery, fear and anxiety out of a purchase for a buyer

I have a good friend who does this with any high end real estate, she agrees to list only after a full real estate inspection from a reputable firm to share with buyers.....her reputation is sterling and she gets great listings and loyal buyers

My 70,000 mile C4S with back seats and sunroof went for 40,000.00 and in the end I felt it was a fair price.
