I tried to locate that antenna under the passenger seat, but didn't see it. Can anyone describe exactly where it is located? Not much room down there!

Added an amplifier.
Range should now be about 6 miles...once I work out the extension cord issue.

So it appears the majority of us have little to no range with the stock setup. Any electrical geniuses here care to take a crack at a mod to improve this?

I don't mind the range problem so much, but having to sit by my door and push the damned button over and over again (sometimes it works right away, sometimes it doesn't) is annoying and at times embarassing.
