Default 993 black/tan Cab/Tip on Ebay

Does anyone know anything about this car or seller? It's been re-listed a couple of times and there have been no bids????? It would match Cindy's black/tan 964. TIA, Don

Not at all. The 993 top shrinks from the sun and the plastic window seams lift from the stretch as a result of the top shrinking. Had mine look like that with less than 30K on.

My wifes 91 Cab has the original top w/o any problems. Maybe it has something to do with the way it's stored. As far as the tires go, he says that they were just old and the sidewalls were cracking. Don't know much about the 993s, but I was told that the 95s were more like an upgraded 94s and the 993 changes didn't really begin until the 96 model year. Cosmetically I'd be concerned about the care of the black paint. Maybe the pics don't do it justice, but the black paint looks very dull and faded....at least compared to Cindy's 91.. w/29K

Watch & wait!

I just think it's price a bit high considering it's a tip and is light on the options. I would shot for $35K.

As for tires most recommend replacing after 6 or 7 years no matter the mileage. I got my first Porsche (88 911 cab) and the tires had better than 75% tread left but when I checked the tire code found they were 9 & 10 years old, replaced them promptly.

The top and tire issues seem reasonable to me. There was a nearly identical car to this that was just sold here in Vancouver...black/cashmere with 16k mi but manual. The car was not stored but just simply parked in an underground and left to collect dust and as a consequence, the paint looked worse than most 25-35k mi cars I've seen. Make sure you ask for detailed pictures and description of the paint as well as how the car was stored/maintained. Cars that sit can have issues related to dried up seals. Get a good PPI.

I think it's just a combination of the minimum bid and the tip that it hasn't sold. Seems a little pricey for the year/tip combo even with the low miles. We had one in our local PCA newsletter that just sold for under $30k with 30k miles (95tip)

I think it looks pretty nice. The paint looks pretty decent. Unless it's been left in acid rain or something, some quality time by a pro with a rotary buffer would take care of any fading. I think the owner just needs a reality check.
