ac question
Hi guys, since first post think i should make small introduction.
Am a pilot from belgium, Brussels region and have a 964 c2 '92 and a 96 993 targa.
Last week they serviced my bmw ac at the bmw garage for 100 euro or so and it was really done very professional, i mean, they hook a huge machine on to it that first takes all the r134 out of the system, and then it vacuums it for a while to check for leaks, then it will clean the system for 20 minutes before they recharche it. My bmw needed 650 grams and after 4.5 years it still had 610 grams of r134 left. So was pretty impressed with it.
Now am thinking will do the same for the targa, it still blows fairly cold but, it might blow a bit colder after, am not sure anyway, at least the system will have completely cleaned as well and for the price i think it's reasonable.
Now for the question, does anyone know how many grams the ac of the 993 -96 model needs TYPE ROW???

I just replaced a condenser, TXV, and receiver/dryer... then flushed, evacuated, and recharged the system. The AC blows super cold, even at the lovely 113 ambient temps we are experiencing in AZ right now! I learned the US car requires 840 g of R134a and 140 cc of PAG 46 oil in a flushed and evacuated system. My manual does not show any difference between the US and RoW AC... and there is a sticker in the engine compartment to check the levels, so you can verify with a lift of the lid.
Cheers, Mark.
