Default Master Cylinder Replacement

Guys, have a '95 993 (N/A) with about 67,000 miles. No brake problems but have been thinking about replacing the master cylinder as a preventative measure. Typically, what is the "life span" of a master cylinder? Anybody guess what the replacement cost might be? Is there an upgrade I should consider if I go forward with the replacement?

Stick with the factory part, it is around $300 when I replaced it moons ago in my race car. I don't think there is a typical life span and don't see why you would replace until it needs it.

Doesn't sound like one of those jobs I'd like to do before it became necessary.

Agreed, I wouldn't do it without a reason. It's not a normal wear and tear item.
