Default 5-spd and 6-spd

Hi all. When I look at cars for sale, I see 5-spd and 6-spd manuals. Was one version an option and the other standard? Or was there a change?
Thanks for clarifying.

Manual 993's had six speed transmissions, not fives. It's either a typo or the website won't allow for a feature selection beyond five speeds.

In the US the '95 993 was the first use of 6 speed in an air cooled car.
prior to that mostly 5 and a few 4 speed manuals.
