Default all,can digital option in tachometer be installed later??

my friend has the digital computer readout option located at the bottom of the tachometer showing fuel comsumption/temperature/speedometer/etc and i was wondering how difficult it would be to add this feature to my 993 C4??

is the wiring in the harness already??

has anyone added this option to their car??

I've done it, and I know at least a handful of other have as well. It is a fairly involved project, and you've got to be comfortable splicing wires and reading wiring diagrams. But it's not a really technically challenging project. Working slowly, it took me about 10 hours. The writeup is very good, and big credit is due to Keith Burrell for doing all the research.

It was very worth doing - I use the readout every day.

+1. Took me about the same amount of time. One note: Try to get a tach from a NA car. If you use a tach from a turbo you'll get a boost gauge (unnecessary) and your fuel economy readings will not be accurate.

Hats off to those people who attempt these intense projects w/o the help of these how-to's.

Even with these how-to's- there are some skillful folks around here!!
