Why not post the specifics here? You'll get a boatload of well-informed responses, with which you can better make your decision.

Mileage / Price / Transmission / Color / Records / etc.

50K miles, 6speed, polar silver cab, has records, new bilsteins all around.......asking 30K I can probably talk down to 29K

Should I be jumping on this quick?

So what will it be - a 911 or a 993? According to this, the 993s are too expensive for you to own and maintain...

Spend some time on the 993 forum and you'll quickly come to realize that 993s are very reliable. Sure, they have a few quirks, but every car does.

50k/Cab/new bilsteins for $30k? Sounds a bit low to me something might be amiss. I'm a skeptic at my core, not trying to rain on any parade. I'm not an expert by any means but a "clean" car with that mileage I think would run mid-high 30's.

Yea my 911 had quirks too, quirks that cost me thousands, and I kinda feel like mine will need a rebuild in the somewhat near future. For me, im not a HARDCORE 911 fan, so spending extra money to upgrade to a 993 sounds better than spending 8K on a rebuild

If the PPI comes back clean, jump on it.

Hmmm turns out the only PPI place I know in Santa Cruz Ca, is Fastlane Porsche, and that is where he serviced the car for the bilsteins, valve cover gaskets (was a leak but new gaskets fixed it), alignment, etc... Oh and the 45K mile service. I'm guessing I should NOT go to this shop. I don't know how well they know each other.

That may well be a good thing too though because they have knowledge of the car.

That sounds like a smoking deal. The guy's shop prolly has little to no incentive to BS you on the car. The fact they just worked on it recently is a good thing IMHO.
