Default Texas Hill Country Drive - January 19th

Okay guys - remember the thread where I stated I would create and schedule a tour of the Texas Hill Country? Here's the original thread as a reminder:
https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...t=hill+country

Based on the previous thread, we'll do a one-day drive in January.

I have created another poll: please make your selections (yes, you can vote on several dates) so I can figure out the BEST date to set this up. Additionally, if any of you have favorite roads, post them and I can likely include them into the route. Thus far I just have conceptual ideas on route, but over the next few weeks I'll work out details.

Poll closes December 21.

My vote is for a Saturday later in the month to give me more time (I'm a world-class procrastinator) to hopefully get my suspension mod done for the drive.

I voted for any day other than the last weekend in January; that's the Rolex 24 hr date.

Texas hill country drive? Can you give an area or post a map of the area? I was thinking of joining you guys and gals. Partick, Dan, Todd and I driving to Palooza up 23 and around Eureka was a fun time. If I could drive to the area in say 4 or 5 hours from Fort Smith Arkansas. This could be fun.

I have a house in Dripping Springs "The Gateway to Hill Country" but keep my car with me in Miami. I love the roads in the Hills, but unfortunately usually run them in a Diesel pick up. I would LOVE to hit them in the 993..........

Looking forward to it.

Thanks for arranging this Adrienne.

So many great routes to pick from. Let me know if you would like to discuss offline.

Travis, it would be great to see you again and I'm sure an Arkie would be welcome. I'm guessing the drive will be somewhere around Austin - about 3 hours from D/FW area. So...if you can get to Dallas from Alma in 2 hours...

8hrs 36min to Austin. Hum? Might be a fun weekend. I might consider, leaving Friday and returning Sunday. Still curious about the routes?
Are you going M030 on the suspension? I hope to have mine done before summer. Post some pics when your finished.

Looks like the penultimate weekend in January is shaping up to be the dates of choice. Maybe consider the 19th with a rain date of the 20th?

I haven't taken the poll as work commitments aren't quite settled, but that weekend is looking clear so far.
