The 993, unlike the earlier 911, uses glass as a structural element to add stiffness to the body. This suggests the glass can be subjected to torsional loads and impact loads. Torsional loads as the body flexes and impact loads when running over rough pavement, especially with a stiffer aftermarket suspension upgrade. I also suspect the glass is exposed to rather high torsional loads when using the emergency jack or any jack that picks up the car from a single lift point.
These loads in combination with a propagation point, for example, a chip or nick in the glass and the glass can pop and fail. This may explain what seems to be a random issue with our cars.
Just some thoughts.

I have a friend in the Albany area that’s a P car enthusiast abd owns a 996 turbo. Very knowledgeable and involved with the Saratoga Classic Car Museum. He may know of a closer local shop. I’ll ask him to respond directly to you.

I'm in the Albany area PCA so happy to help if I can. New Country Porsche uses Mohawk Collision in Schenectady. They recently became a factory certified repair shop, one of only a limited # in the north east so they are pretty reputable. They host the PCA meeting there several times a year as well and they always have a few in the shop getting fixed.
If you call them, talk to Gerry hes the head guy and very knowledgeable. If that doesnt work I can reach out to the membership and see if they have any input

i just rejoined PCA myself. I was a member in the 1990s when I owned a 91 c2. When I joined the girl at PCA said she would reach out to Champlain Hudson chapter for advice. I haven’t heard from them either yet. I may take you up on your offer if I don’t hear back from anybody.
thanks
