993 Carrera 4 Owners Group?! (Show your Narrow-Body pride!)
In trying to track down colors that this car actually came in I have bumped into production numbers, factory color charts and all kinds of information but it all has left me feeling like (I have too much time on my hands?) I would be better served by a unified collection of data.
That said I am putting out a call to all 993 Carrera 4 owners to chime in with their model year, original color and any other info you care to share. I am inspired by the RSAmerica.net model which is a really cool and valuable resource for owners and those who appreciate that model, and hope that maybe we'll end up there too.
The numbers I have (and I realize that these have been disputed in the past and will continue to be disputed in the future) are as follows:
1) 993 C4 Coupes - 951 total
2) 993 C4 Cabs - 601 total
I'll start.
95 C4 Coupe. VIN:3916/May 1995 build date. Guards Red 43,XXX miles.

96 C4 Coupe, Black/Black, 6 spd, manuf 5/96, currently 36,009 miles. I am the 2nd owner, purchased 2/99 with ~6,000 miles. 1st owner titled the car on 2/97. Car is stock and original other than normal maintenance parts and fluids, mats, spoiler wall, invisishield, 3 windshields, and the car is on the 5th set of tires. I change oil/filters annually or 3K miles, whichever is sooner. Have the foam rope and Pedros Ice to silence windshield creaking.
Needs shocks. Haven't lowered because of sloped driveway and miserable roads.
Will keep it until I can't shift, need the money, or my insurance won't cover the 993.
What was I thinking. Of course it's a 6 speed. I don't believe there was a tip 993 C4.

95 C4 Coupe, Midnight blue metallic/Classic grey, 6MT, 64,xxx miles M030 and hardback sports seats.
I'll have to get back to you on the build date. I think the original owner took it on European delivery.

I know most prefer the wide body, but I don't. I searched and searched for the right NB, and found it last winter: 1996, silver/black, 6-speed, 41K miles then, 44K miles now.

95 Black C4, Classic Grey, Chrome Cups, purchased last year with 60k, she now has 77k!
