I have a cab and I rarely put the top up; I can't remember the last time it was up. With the seat heaters, car heater and wind stop you can drive it in cold weather and be comfortable.

That said, I too like the lines and looks of the coupes better, particularly the wide body 993's.

Either way, you can't go wrong! Good luck....

I LOVE my C4 Cab... since it's my 2nd car, no need for two coupes!

I take my cab to the track a few times a ye the car. The lines may be better on coupe but I'll trade that any day for the sound of the flat six reving to red line with the top down. That and driving home from a day at the track with the top down is one of the best feelings there is.

Come to Road Atlanta in 2 weeks for the DE. If you get any thoughts of WOW I'd like to do that... Buy a Coupe.

If not get a Cab.

Both are great cars just a personal preference.

Without wanting to offend anyone, I reckon the Coupe every time. The cab's just not the classic Porsche shape.
The cab thing is great for the right climate, but if I was going to buy a cab it wouldn't be a 911.....rather something designed to be a convertible. S2000 perhaps, or even an MX5....or even "gasp" a Boxster.

Atlanta gets hot pretty quick for cabs, especially in stop and go traffic (some folks can tolerate that, though), and a C4 is overkill unless you want to drive fast in the mountains after a rainstorm.

Targa, or coupe with sunroof would get my vote.

I think you need one of each. That way, you can pick depending on the weather, your mood, or the event.

Definitely give some thought to a Targa. If you're not going to be a regular DE'er it's a great choice. With little ones the Cab can be pretty windy in the back and they'll love seeing the glass roof open up over their heads, which by the way you can do on the fly. I've had mine in some pretty hot weather and the sun loading on all the glass is minimal as Porsche tinted it to reflect out most of the heat. Since you get some rain in your neck of the woods (or at least you used to) it sure is nice to be able to easily open and close it as you drive through the storms.
