Default Water leak in my 993

How ironic that I have a water leak in my car that has no water.

After a rare hour long drive in a down pour I notice water dripping down the passenger door. The next day I had a puddle of water in my door holder (what ever you call it). After searching the posts I have seen water leaks from windshields, is it possible this is from my door or is it just my windshield dripping down to my door.

Leaks like these are pretty common when driving in heavy rain. Did you have your windshield replaced?

Maybe a silly question, but... Are you sure your window (or door) was properly closed?

I never drive in the rain but I got caught i a bad one.

No I have not had my windshield replaced & only Finn would ask me if my window was up

The water seams to start where the door meets the dash...

Kristoffer, check to see if the car to door molding is OK first.
However many times it's the bottom corner of the windshield.
Water/salt gets trapped there and causes a rust and eventually a hole.
Quick fix is silicone under the outside windshield molding and also the same on the inside under the dash.
Permanent fix, you need the windshield removed and do some bodywork.

Default Water under W/S molding!

I just had a windshield installed and took some pics. While removing the outer molding I found water under the molding from washing the car two weeks earlier. It never saw rain and the car was completely dry before pulling the molding. My car's first w/s and I hope not to replace one every 27k miles. But I could see how rust could get started. From now on I'll be drying under the molding that's for sure.

Travis, from the pic it looks like your windscreen molding is missing?

as a note, when my car had its windshield replaced for the 2nd time - the tech. noticed that there were a lot of rubber sealant applied to the area essentially covering all painted areas by the lower corners. Someone was thinking of rust prevention prior to me I took a look at the rear windshield and found the same...

I think that's his point. He zipped the moulding off and THAT much water came flinging out.

Exactly! Here is a link to the w/s install. I was in the glass business for a few years while in college.
