Default Diecast anyone? Here is my modest collection - Many pics

I have a total of 158 cars displayed and some still in boxes. Most of the items are UT and Auto Art. There are some Maisto and others scatterd about in the collection. I was a heavy collector from 1997 to 2001 and stopped due to interest and the number of cars I had accumulated. I just finished my office at home and decided it was time to display the cars. Some cars are really bringing alot more than what I paid (though none are for sale). I am glad I took the time to bring these out of storage. My wife calls me an idiot so I must be doing soething right. Enjoy the pics.

Here are some more with some other Porsche stuff I have collected. Some of the cars are signed like:

Target Indy car - Jimmy Vasser and Alex Zanardi
Kool - Team Green Champ car - Paul Tracy
Busch Series Warngler car - Dale Jr.

Some other notables are:

An original ashtray from Vasek Polak Porsche in Hermosa Beach. When I won this thing in EBay 12 years ago I had a guy offer me 200.00 for it since he missed the bidding. Who knows what this is worth? Probably not 200.00.

A ceramic 930 Turbo tape dispenser. I love this thing.

Enjoy the rest of the pics. Feel free to ask any questions or request more pics. Nothing is for sale.

Mike

Arena993, that is an amazing collection of detailed models. Can you suggest a place to find a detailed 993 turbo model? I have seen stuff on ebay but don't know which brands to pursue. Thanks!

Auto Art and UT IMHO are the best brands. Although I do have a few Maisto "Special Edition" cars that are close to the UT and Auto Art quality but not as good. I haven't been much into the diecast for quite a few years. These cars were all in storage for the past 8-10 years. I am sure there are active buyers on Rennlist that could provide more info.

Amazing collection and display. How do you get any work done in there? I would be daydreaming...

Wow thats quite the collection, hope you have them covered under insurance. Thats some little investment there. Where did the display cases come from?

I had the cases made with mirror backing. The shelving is stock white shelves from Home Depot. The acrylic cases were pretty pricey, but dust is not an option on these cars they need to be covered when on display.

Nice collection. (I too have the "nudie" car from the late 90s Le Mans)

But you gotta meet Jomama and Robert Trinkle.

Dam, I got a few in my basement, still in boxes. Used to have a ton of BMW cars.

But I don't have ONE 993!

Meh...No Repsol car! Joking, that is one awesome collection. What is the white 993 race car top right? Why was there no 930 1:18 ever made????? The car is an icon and you would think UT or AutoArt would have jumped on that.
