Default Clanging noise coming from right tailpipe

It's only noticeable when I'm on top of it (like checking the oil). It appears to be coming from inside the pipe. Any ideas?

I see your dog is attracted to the sound

Are all the clamps tight ? (3 pcs on each muffler).
if they are tight I would try to remove the muffler and shake it to see if the internals have come loose (although i have not heard of that happening).

Thanks Akerlie. The dog does look like he's been standing behind that tailpipe too long! I need a new picture.

I think he's "listening to the sound of his master's voice".
Sorry if that's an obscure reference.

Might be a bad cat. They can get loose inside the pipe if they overheat and distort.

Have someone gently bang on the tail pipes while you look and listen for sounds and or loose fittings.

I had a noise too, but it may be different than what you describe. One of the spot welds on the exhaust tip broke, so when I was at idle, the tip shield would rattle around and make a noise. Shop welded it back on (for free).

Another thing to look for is to make sure none of your clamp hardware is in contact with the heat
shields.

. . . which might be caused by a worn motor mount . . .

If it is a bad cat, moving the dog is a good idea, the bad cat will never come out with the dog standing right there

could also be the little heat shield on the pipe that exits the muffler and connects to the tip

If you have stock tips, and they aren't aligned just right, they have a shield on them that can touch the exhaust tubing next to them giving a rattle.
