OT: why my slippery slope has turned to an uphill battle
Didn't think there'd be a lot of interest in play by play pics, but here's what's been draining my bank account and keeping my attention (short) busy. The last pic is earlier today.
The area will become replacement bedrooms for the kids (their current rooms are becoming an office/dining room and the other is becoming increased livingroom). A re-arrangement of a current full bath (for my daughter), adding another full bath down stairs (my son's) and another full bath for an upstairs loft (kids future playroom/guest quarters). Total under roof square footage (of the addition) should be between 1000 and 1200. We are also moving the laundry room to an area that is now part of the oversized attached garage (we are walling it off to become climate controlled with the main house).
Needless to say, I'll be broke come the finish of this thing............hope the car lasts for a while

If I didn't get this project moving soon, I'D be sleeping in a Porsche......and not real happy about it. I did however, start with fully finishing the garage so in case I got shun to the garage, I'd at least have A/C, cable, bathroom facilities etc... oh the the all to important lift
David, for what I'm going to be spending on this, forget the CF interior, I could'a had a GT3

At least its on the outside of your house.
Why I'm not sleeping in my bedroom at the moment:
Those reddish brown things are 4 x 4 steel columns to reinforce the wall and permit new hurricane proof (er, resistant) glass panels and French doors.
When they finish here they'll do the same to the livingroom x 2 ( 4 x panels and 2 French doors).
Then you can visit Chris.

Thanks Pong. Yeah I hope it serves us well for many years, its why we're doing this. Market conditions (like the once mighty California market) has priced us out of what we would really want to do. This is by far the best way to get what we want (and for much less $$), the kids will have their side of the house and Julie and I ours
Hope you and yours are well. Ever finish that Lexus project?

Only for a short bit! We are punching thru the side wall to the rear corner in various spots to accommodate the new areas. The rear wall from the corner you see to a sliding glass door 17' away is disappearing to open up our living room area. So we are actually nuking a fair bit of what you see. Pics will follow in the coming weeks as we progress.
Going to need that visit when this is over

Chris,
We did the suspension (JIC coil-overs) and SSK on the SC300. Man that car is tight.
That Lexus engine is running super strong, and we will not do an engine transplant until the current engine dies, so more time to save for the next adventure.

Chris you need to sell more DACH stuff to be able to afford more mods. It's easily justified: The cash coming from the DACH business stays in the car business.. Noone can argue with that, right?

great shout it to the world why don't you! thats supposed to be a secret <<<shhhh>>>
Thanks Chris, its about to get a little nicer (I hope) may dress it up out front (stacked stone facade) if I can save some money here and there.....we'll see.
Its a modest place (we didn't have any money when I built it and we tried to keep on a tight budget), but its got great location. Right in the middle of it all, but tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac and because the city owns the property to my left, I should never have any neighbors. Plus I'm on just over a half acre (rare these days) so its almost big enough
