Default Canadian child seat recommendation?

...recommendations needed for child seat for 15 Kg three year old to go in back seat of 1998 C2S coupe.

I've read that the Britax Roundabout will fit - does any one have any experience of this or other seats? Is it easy to fit a child seat securely using the shoulder belt?

Photos would be appreciated!

Thanks

Soon after buying my 993 in June, I did a ton of research into this, knowing that we would want to take the 993 out for family trips at some point. Ours turns 3 on Friday and he loves "Daddy's sportscar"!

The Britax Monarch fits perfectly, after you remove the pop-out cup holders. Here is more info...

http://www.britaxusa.com/products/pr...tail.aspx?ID=6

As a bonus, it matches the colors of daddy's car!

Getting the car seat in and out of the 993 and securely installed is really simple. For our first (and so far, only) trip, I first threw down a lightweight blanket over the leather seat, placed the car seat on top of that and strapped him right in with the seatbelt. Oh, and I put a heavy t-shirt over my leather seat in case he kicked the back of it, which, thankfully, he did not do. Whew!

In reading many web sites and other forums, lots of folks recommended the Britax Marathon, again with the cup holders removed. As it turns out, the Monarch is the replacement for the Marathon and they have the same base dimensions. I called Britax to confirm this.

Removing the cup holders took less than a minute, popping them off with a flathead screwdriver.

When I get home I will take a few pics and post them here.

Have fun!

-Dave

15kg = 33lbs which is too small for the Monarch or other "booster" type seats, unless the kid has neck muscles like an F1 driver. You need a "convertible" seat, which has a 5-point harness.

I took a Marathon Britax baby seat and took the base off it. It fits fine into my 911 85'. Plus it goes back into Mom's car fine too.

Hi Loopster

Did you have to take the base off? How have you secured the seat? Using the shoulder belt?

Are Canadian kids different than American kids?

Yes, you need extra leg room for the ice skates

We discussed this back in April:

BTW- the two I recommended for $130 and $30 still seem to be available. Don't forget to Search!

Apart from the skis...

Our beloved government here in the north only officially sanctions a limited range of child seats relative to the US. Consequently, the insurers may create problems if you are not using a "Canadian" sanctioned child seat....

Canadian or American? You need to take the base off as the seat pad in Porsches are to narrow to accommodate, whatever nationality the Punk is. The seat belt hooks in behind like normal. Its probably illegal to remove the base but what can I say- I live in Northern California. Otherwise I haven't found a "child seat" for the back other than a booster.
