Default OT. I am the healthiest sick guy you know

I have a rare liver disease (primary schlerosing cholangitis). Discovered about six years ago. That is stabilized and doesn't bother me too much. I have to worry about the development of liver cancer. Monitored closely.

2 years ago, they found a mass in my adomen, near my left kidney. Had it yanked out. It was benign.

Pre-surgery work up finds another tumor in September, this time on the other side, near the top of my left leg and spine. Same thing. Benign mass.

I don't look so good in my speedo anymore altho my scar could match with the stripes. My navel has been completley destroyed. It looks like it's screaming.

SO, for Christmas this year, I am going to donate my prostate to the hospitals trash barrel. Surgery is 12/19. Prognosis is great, no loss of function (I almost played with that word), should eradicate the cancer.

So, once again, I'm having surgery around the holidays.

But here's what I'm going to tell you. My situation doesn't bother me a bit. I'm going to be fine and have a Merry Christmas and so are you. This is a tough time of year for all of us but have a friggin' blast.

Yup, 2008 has been the worst year of my life. Lost my girl, my job, and watched all the profit I made on selling my house in 2005 go down the tubes in the stock market. And things have only gone downhill from there. I've never suffered from depression, but this year has really been one body blow after the next. When I was at my worst, the Gods decided to throw a kidney stone my way as well. I've never been so low for so long.

That said, my Mom is 80 and in great shape and I have a place to go for the holidays. My health overall is good and a few people really love me. I know I'm not the only one struggling right now, and your post helps put things in perspective. Chuck, best of luck to you and your family, and a heartfelt Merry Christmas to you, and everyone else.

Best of luck Chuck, hope all goes well. Certainly makes me reflect on my shoulder and sinus problems in a whole new way. 3 more weeks of PT trying to avoid the knife on my shoulder myself.

Wow! Good luck, bud. We'll all be thinking about you over here. It's funny how these things sometimes just when you think you're done with one crisis, another pops up! I know you're gonna pull through just fine!!!

Chuck,
that's exactly the attitude to have - you know it's going all well as long as you stay optimistic! All the best to you from my family & I over here!

Chuck - good luck with the surgery. I had it in 2000 and am still looking down at the sod. Enjoy your naps - best part of the recovery thing.
