I'm leaning toward the Wevos. For those familiar with them, how is the quality? Are they are as well made as they look in the photos?

Thanks for your input!

Not to break your bubble, but here is a broked C4S mount: it was full of a particularly evil smelling black juice.
Maybe it was liquid rubber, too young to have been vulcanized ... content to be hydraulic in its adolesence

If you really need more info on this highly inconsequential purchase, try searching the archives:

Hmm. So the C4 mounts are hydraulic as well?

hello Garth,
It would be great if you still have the brokid C4 mount, and you could saw it in half for a disection picture. The one I mounted in my picture is the same, and I am still thinking there is no gel inside. thanks

Hi Geo,
If the mount is still here, it is outside the garage under 50cm of fresh snow ..... and may not surface until spring thaw.

Regardless, you are quite correct - there is no gel inside the mounts: they are hydraulic, much like OEM 928 mounts. The hydraulic fluid is as described - black, reasonably viscous, somewhat like gear oil .... and has the pungent aroma of a week old dead fish.
I will dissect it if found, for I am curious as to how the fluid flow is directed within the rubber bladder.

thanks Garth,
The weather is very cold here in Paris, but no snow. When I compared the C2 and C4 mounts side by side, there was a huge weight difference inside the bulbs, omitting the extra washer and rubber surround underneath the C2 ones. Anyway, I have the C4 ones since a year, and IMHO they are significantly stiffer than the C2 ones. I promise to disect the C2 ones I have when the weather permits, and will post the pictures in this thread. my best regards for the holidays to all

Like everything that Hayden does, it is meticulously over-engineered and made of the best materials under exacting specifications. I would with zero hesitation trust my life to anything that Wevo supplies.

Welcome. Aside from running Wevo, Hayden Burvill has been the race engineer for Brumos along with various IRL and GrandAm teams. He's the real deal.

I went w/ the Wevos and am pleased (to be fair, not experience w/ the RS mounts though). I had my engine carrier beefed up, just in case. Be sure to use a torque wrench when installing the mounts....or you could snap a bolt......as I did....
