Hello everyone!!!
Well, it is good to be here. Long process starting with driving every variety of car you can imagine, Acura NSX, F355s, Nissan 350, and Porsche, lots of them, 964, 964RS, 993 - all flavours, 996 turbo. And the winner: 993-C4S. Nothing else came close to approximating the perfect encapsulation of speed, handling, visceral driving sensation wired directly to every pleasure sensor in my body. Well, maybe all but one, although still debatable .
Then the reading started, pretty much everything I could find including but not limited to: Excellence was expected, Porsche 911 Story, and the Performance Handbook (Bruce rules!); can't appreciate the car without the history.
Finally, after 14 months, bought my C4S and I cannot stop smiling. This is not a car, this is movement reduced to the essential communion between driver and machine, the translation of synaptic intent to the asphalt below. Much like a woman, it rewards through charm, character, even through idiosyncratic imperfections, growing on you as it reveals itself, the thinking person’s car.
Next decision was to join the choir: Rennlist, best place on the planet to share communion with the converted. I am home….

Congrats and welcome to the madness. Hope you become a real regular on Rennlist. You should know by now that it is pretty much mandatory to post pics of your car when introducing yourself......So post 'em up!
How about some specifics on it, too? Mileage, mods, options, etc..

Thank you very much for the warm welcome everyone!!!
Will take some pictures this weekend, but for now here's my favourite view. And a picture of my other vice... Makes for a nice pair.
The car is pretty much stock, 47,000 Km, 6 speed, sport seats. First on my list was an oil change - the joys of laying on your back for two hours wrestling with the engine oil filter - ; fuel filter and and hood struts. Next I will install Rennline pedals and PSS10 suspension - a must after a 964RS. I plan to take it slow and enjoy the experience
Will post more stuff over the weekend

Bart1,
both the 964RS and the 993C4S are great cars but very different. The RS is a more nervous, high-strung car that really makes you work. It is very light and revs freely, not really at ease in stop and go traffic. The 993 feels more planted, methinks it is the rear suspension geometry and the all-wheel drive. Drive both through the same corner and you feel the rear-end pushing in the RS. The 993 is like a locomotive nothing but poise and torque. For a better driver the RS is probably the more satisfying car, but for me the C4S is just what Weissach ordered.
