Default Need Advice on Steering wheel Rewrap

I want to buy a 3 Spoker and rewrap it with Alcantera.
Does anyone know of a company that does a good job on something like this? How much does it cost?
Can they do the shift boot also?

Paging Andreas. Please pick up the Artic Silver courtesy phone in the lobby please. Seriously you may want to PM him for his experiences and advice.

Mike

I just picked it up and there was no one on the line. I'm typically monitoring the Polar Silver phone.

To the OP - do not use AGLA (Alan Gunn). A brief search will give you hours and hours of reading. I finally replaced the steering wheel that he ruined. Then, without hesitation, I threw the old wheel in the garbage. Yep, that's how bad it was.

Pics as discussed (the flash made the fabric look brighter than it does in real life)>

Doesn't alcantara look terrible in a few months? I saw one on an M3 once and it was really dirty and beaten up.

Another + for Dallas Steering Wheel... he does a great job and is very quick (in my experience). I would use him again and probably will again some day.
I had him add 1/16" of thickness to the wheel.

Mine has held up well but I have heard/seen the same thing on BMWs... not sure what the deal is.
Alcantara is pretty durable in my experience.
(sorry for the washed out pic... it is actually black)

I think durability is not the issue as much as it getting dirty. Keep it reasonably clean and you should be fine but if you like to eat in your car stay away from sticky buns.

Ditto on not using ALGA. Handbrake handle cover was a terrible quality job that took 4 months and was billed twice for. Thrown in the garbage as well.
