Unhappy Marbles in a can in my 96' C4

The suspension misalignment saga went onto steroids today. After 1000 miles and $$$$ later my newly installed LWF has new concerns. Some kind of "marbles in a can" sound emitting from the mid transmission area has received top attention. When push in the clutch the marbles stop rolling (metal pinging sound). let the clutch out its back, while in neutral. Slightly pull on the stick it eases. Inside the cab the sound is coming up through the stick. Outside its at the transmission where the gears are. My mech thinks its a loose gear fork. I am wondering how has this happened @ 50,000. Seems suspect after he just had the engine and trans out. He's trying to cop out of it, should i let him walk and move on to Jerry Woods in the Bay area? Any clues? thanks as always.

Isn't that standard behavior for the LWF?

Pretty serious metal pinging sound, not at clutch but further up the line in trans. Pretty quiet for 1000 miles

I've always heard that LWFs result in the "marbles in a can" sound when in neutral, but not with the clutch pressed in. Do a search for some of the LWF threads...

i would suggest you stop messing around.
call rich at jerry woods, have him drive the car and see if the sound is normal.
if JWE can't fix it, NO ONE can.

This is why I scratch my head when people rave about the LWF upgrade.

I have a hard time thinking that the noise is clutch activated. The LWF is absolutely very different, waymore spunky than the DWF. You really feels it in 1st,2nd,and 3rd. It took my great smooth C4 and put some animal into it. Just gotta tame the beast now.
